Fairly uniform with the exception of 1 plant that is darker green in color and leaves are much more blistered. Leaves are ovate and have a slightly lobed outline and wavy margin. Leaves have high to moderate blistering and an open angle. Above average heading capabilities. Plants measure 9.5-17 inches tall and 23-38 inches wide. Excellent eating qualities. Described as earthy, sweet, and low bitterness.

Fulton Stroud – 84

Most plants are uniform. One plant has more horizontal, spreading leaves. Another plant is a lighter shade of green. All plants display some variation in leaf angle from almost erect to spreading. Leaves are spatulate with a lobed outline and wavy to toothed margin. Leaves have low to moderate blistering and are open to prostrate. Non-heading variety. Plants measure 13-32 inches tall and 20-42 inches wide. People either really liked the strong spicy flavor or hate it.

Fuzzy’s Cabbage Collard – 70

Slight variation in population. One plant is a lighter shade of green while another has light purple petioles. Leaves orbicular to spatulate in shape with a wavy to toothed margin. Leaves have low blistering and are drooping. Plants are semi-prostrate and have a slight heading capability. Plants measure 10-20 inches tall and 22-38 inches wide. Average taste qualities.

E.B. Paul – 73

Uniform variety. One plant is a shade bit lighter green than the others, and all are rather compact plants. Leaves are elliptic with an entire, wavy margin, and intermediate blistering. Leaves are rather straight and erect. Plants measure 10.5-17 inches tall and 21-30 inches wide. Above average heading capabilities. Fared well when low temperatures reached 20 F. This was well-liked by staff as it is sweet with just a hint of bitterness.

Tabitha Dykes – 58

Slightly spicy, average flavor. Moderate variation seen in this variety. Variation in intensity of pigmentation in most pronounced; some plants have a purple blush throughout leaves, stem, and petioles. Degree of blistering is also variable. Obovate purple-green leaves have wavy margins. Amount of leaf bloom is also variable from light to heavy. Open plants measure 2.0-2.6′ tall and 2-3′ in diameter. Largest leaves measure 1.5-2.0′ long and 8-12″ wide.
