Variegated

This Florida family heirloom dates back to at least 1910. Tender greens with good cold hardiness. As the plants experience colder and colder winter weather, at least half the leaves transform to a beautiful green-and-white variegated. Where winter temperatures remain above 20°F, plants can live 5+ years and develop stems 3 inches in diameter. The seed originally came from grower Walt Childs and was commercially introduced in 1999 by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. 80 days.
